This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape brand painter’s tape for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
A few weeks ago I was asked by the good people at FrogTape® to try out one of their new products, FrogTape® Shape Tape™
I think it would be an understatement to tell you that I was excited. Truth is, I've had this cork board hanging in our kitchen for some time now. I have seen a few photos on pinterest of chevron painted cork boards and I knew that was what I wanted to do with my cork board. However, all of the cutting and measuring seemed overwhelming and I just wasn't feeling that motivated to tackle this project.
That all changed when I discovered that FrogTape® made Shape Tape™. Their chevron pattern was exactly what I was looking for and it took all of the guess work out of making my own chevron pattern. Shape Tape™ is treated with patented PaintBlock® Technology, a super absorbent polymer that reacts with the water in latex paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape, which helps prevent paint bleed.

I started out by placing the Shape Tape™ directly on the cork board. I used a knife to cut off the edges, then I cut off a few pieces to use as spacers.

It didn't take me long to realize that the FrogTape®, Shape Tape™ was not sticking to the cork board all that well. I was becoming frustrated because the tape kept peeling up. I finally decided to strip all of the tape off and paint the entire board white.

The white paint gave the Shape Tape™ something to stick to and round two went a lot easier. The best part about Shape Tape™ is that it’s designed with a slit liner on the back of the tape for easier application – remove one half of the liner, position the tape and remove the other half. Although I had planned on leaving some of the cork exposed, I am extreamly happy with how this project turned out. It looks ten times better.
(For those of you wondering about the hooks on the bottom... I am working on a chore system for the girls that I will be sharing wih you all in a future post once I pefect it.)
You can find Shape Tape™ at participating Lowes and Walmart locations, and all Menards stores across the United States. I would also like to encourage you to visit http://frogtape.com/index.php/… for more information. You can also follow FrogTape® (the makers of Shape Tape™) on Twitter @FrogTape for tons of creative inspiration!
